I got my first real Beardie
Man I bought him just in time
Played with him till my fingers bled
Was the summer of '69

Ver. 2:
Me and this dude real cool
had a ball and we played real hard
Buddy bounced and I got harried
Should have known he'd run that far

the summer seemed to last forever

when you got a job to do
